The air quality of our region is already compromised by its natural “valley” topography. That reality is already exaggerated by the polluting traffic generated by nearby interstate highway intersections and the multitude of truck terminals. We cannot allow the strangling effect of these warehouses causing an estimated increase of up to 600 more truck trips per day.
More trucks will rumble across our roads and streets spewing diesel exhaust soot, pollutants, and stench skyward as drivers idle their trucks waiting their turn at the warehouse docks. Back up beepers will splinter any hope of peace and quiet.
Bright parking lot lights surrounding these buildings and parking lots will relentlessly douse our homes with intrusive light 24/7/365.
An interstate national gas line runs between the proposed warehouses. The danger? In places it is a shallow 18 inches below the surface, just below where multi-ton vehicles will travel over it.
The exit onto the Carlisle Pike disrespects a 175-year-old historical cemetery where a headstone dates back to a veteran of the War of 1812.
